NOTICE TO ALL COMMUNITIES AND COACHES:
1. ALL coaches [Head & Assistants] MUST have a blue U.S.A. Hockey Coaching Card to be eligible to be on the bench and ice for games and practices for the current playing season.
2. A C.E.P. Card with current verification sticker MUST be carried by ALL coaches [Head & Assistants] for all U.S.A. Hockey sanctioned games. If a coach cannot produce their current & up-to-date U.S.A. C.E.P. Card prior to the start of the game, it must be noted on the scoresheet by the off-ice official. The coach will be allowed to coach that game. The scoresheet will be faxed to the State Coach-in-Chief the next day by the home team. If after receiving the scoresheet, a coach is found that they do not have a current card with sticker, the game will be counted as a forfeit and that coaches local association will be fined $150.00 per coach not properly carded.
3. The above rule will not take effect until the final clinic in the state has been completed, which for the current season is SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH. Any coach that is in violation up to November 19th, will have his local association called and reminded of the mandate on coaches requirements by U.S.A. Hockey and told of the remaining clinics the coach can attend. No forfeits of games or monetary fines will be imposed until after the November 18th, 2001 deadline.
4. Any [Parent/Team Manager] who does not have the proper valid card with sticker will be held to the penalties listed above. Get your team manager or a parent carded if you feel your coaches need help in the box or you may have times when the above mentioned parties need to fill in on the bench. Parents or Team Managers will sign their names on the scoresheet with card numbers if they plan to be in bench. If they are not on the scoresheet or have not put their card number down, they can remain in the box for that game but the off-ice official will note it on the scoresheet and fax it to the State Coach-in Chief the next day. If found to not be carded through U.S.A. Hockey's Coaching Education Program, the team will forfeit the game and the local association will be fined $150.00 for each Parent or Team Manager not properly carded after the November 18th deadline.
5. Off-Ice Officials will make sure that before the start of the game the number of people in the players boxes match the number of names printed on the game sheet along with coaching card number next to their names. Any community not participating will have to send their coaches to one of the communities clinic with a trained clinician. [Set-up similar to our Cyber Sport trainer sessions which we run each Fall Meeting.]
