North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association

North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association (NDAHA) proudly sent 2 teams from the North Dakota to the USA Hockey National Tournaments the week of April 6-11, 2010, North Dakota Starz 14U (boys) and the North Dakota Starz 16U (boys) Hockey teams.

The North Dakota Starz 16U team competed in West Chester PA for the National Tier II National Championship.

With wins in pool play over Portland Jr Pirates (Maine) 8-4, Ashburn Xtreme (Virginia) 6-2 and Nashua Pro-Ambition Panthers(New Hampshire) 9-1, this put the ND Starz as the Number 1 seed into the quarter final games.

In the quarter final the face Allegany Starz(Penn) and posted a 7-3 win to advance into the semi final on the same day. There they would face the Houston Wild of( Texas) and scored a 5-2 victory to advance into the3 A division championship game to play the Afton Americans of St Louis Mo.

Here the ND Starz would defeat the St Louis team 3-1 to and be crowned 2010 USA Hockey National Champions, their 2nd National Championship in 4 years, with 3rd finishes in 2008 and 2009. In the 2010 tournament the ND Starz scored 38 goals while only giving up 13 against, in a perfect 6 win and 0 loses in the National Tournament
